Travis County Jury Convicts Man of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14

Travis County, TX — On August 14, 2026, a Travis County jury convicted Uriel Flores-Dehuma, 44, of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14.

For Flores-Dehuma’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, August 10, 2026, and the State began presenting evidence on the following day. On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the jury deliberated and found Flores-Dehuma guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14. On Friday, August 14, 2026, the jury sentenced him to 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

On February 7, 2021, the Austin Police Department arrested Flores-Dehuma and charged him with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14, involving two victims. On April 20, 2026, Flores-Dehuma was subsequently reindicted in preparation for his trial with the offenses of one count of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14, one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, six counts of Indecency with a Child by Contact, and one count of Indecency with a Child by Exposure.

Assistant District Attorneys Letheal Johnson and Evan Ferguson presented the case against Flores-Dehuma with the support of Victim Counselor Ashlie Jones, Investigator Chris Nowlin, Paralegal AngelicaRae Nieto, and Legal Secretary Randi Skelton. Austin Police Department Detective Gabriel Fernandez investigated the case against Flores-Dehuma.
