Wrongful Conviction Review
TCDA’s Conviction Integrity Unit (CIU) investigates claims of actual innocence and wrongful convictions. To request for CIU to review a previous Travis County conviction, please complete and submit this form. For more information about the Conviction Integrity Unit, please email TCDA.CIU@traviscountytx.gov.
Expunctions
Each year, TCDA collaborates with other community and government partners to organize expunction fairs for the public. Volunteers assist eligible individuals at these events to remove Travis County arrests from their criminal history. Individuals with arrest records face barriers in securing employment, housing, and federal financial aid. For more information about these events, contact ExpunctionExpo@traviscountytx.gov.
Wage Theft
Wage theft occurs when a worker is not paid what they are promised or owed under the law. In some instances, an employer’s nonpayment of wages may constitute criminal conduct and fall under TCDA’s authority. Learn how to request for TCDA to investigate a wage theft complaint here.
Civil Rights Complaints
TCDA’s Civil Rights Unit investigates and prosecutes criminal cases where an individual is alleged to have been injured or killed by a public servant during the performance of the public servant’s official duties. Most complaints handled by the Civil Rights Unit relate to a peace officer’s use of force. TCDA is not involved in administrative or civil matters that relate to officer misconduct. To request that TCDA review a criminal civil rights complaint, please email TCDA.CivilRights@traviscountytx.gov.
