Travis County Jury Convicts Man of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14

Travis County, TX — On August 13, 2026, a Travis County jury convicted Samuel Ramirez, 36, of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14.  

Jury selection for Ramirez’s trial began on Monday, August 10, 2026, and the State presented evidence the following day. On Thursday, August 13, 2026, the jury deliberated and found him guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14. On Friday, August 14, 2026, the jury sentenced him to 25 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

On February 2, 2023, the Austin Police Department arrested Ramirez and charged him with Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14 involving two victims.  On October 31, 2024, Ramirez was indicted for the offenses of three counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14, six counts of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, and three counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.

Assistant District Attorneys Yasmeen Aboellhasan and Emily Scholten presented the case against Ramirez with the support of Victim Counselor Chris Rodriguez Jones, Investigator Chris Nowlin, Paralegal Olivia Colvert, and Legal Secretary Myrna Ruiz.  Austin Police Department Detective Jeremy Bolin investigated the case against Ramirez.
