Travis County Judge Sentences Man Convicted of Violating a Protective Order or Bond Condition Two or More Times Within 12 Months
Travis County, TX — On March 3, 2026, a Travis County jury convicted Alejandro Aguilar, 39, of Violating a Protective Order or Bond Condition Two or More Times Within 12 Months.
Jury selection for Aguilar’s trial started on Monday, March 2, 2026, and the State began presenting evidence on the following day. On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the jury deliberated for about one hour and found Aguilar guilty of the charge, Violating a Protective Order or Bond Condition Two or More Times Within 12 Months. On the same day, the parties agreed to a four-year probation sentence, and the defendant was sentenced to four years of probation starting on April 9, 2026.
On May 31, 2022, Aguilar was arrested by the Austin Police Department and charged with a misdemeanor offense of Violating a Bond or Protective Order. On February 1, 2024, Aguilar was indicted for the offense of Violating a Protective Order or Bond Condition Two or More Times Within 12 Months.
Assistant District Attorneys Konnor Rodriguez and Amanda McColgan presented the case against Aguilar with the support of Victim Counselor Julie Sweeney, Investigators Kerry Scanlon and Leon Williams, Paralegal Angela Zepeda, and Legal Secretary Randi Skelton. Austin Police Department Detective Peter Wright investigated the case against Aguilar.
