Travis County Jury Convicts Man Charged with Two Counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Travis County, TX — On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, a Travis County jury convicted Quincy Punch, 41, of two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Jury selection started on Monday, July 14, 2025, and testimony began the following day. On Wednesday, July 16, 2025, the jury started deliberations and found Mr. Punch guilty of two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon. On the same day, the State and Defendant came to an agreement on punishment at 15 years for each count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and 10 years for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon to be served concurrently at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On March 26, 2023, the Austin Police Department charged Mr. Punch with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for the incident that occurred on March 25, 2023. In October 2023, Mr. Punch was arrested in Polk County.
On December 20, 2024, Mr. Punch was reindicted for the offenses of two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and one count of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.
Assistant District Attorneys Dominic Selvera and Valerie Desrosiers presented the case against Mr. Punch with the support of Investigators Jesse Hernandez and Mike Henderson, Paralegal Allison Matous, and Legal Secretaries Ana-Laura Mujica and Carmen Amaro. Austin Police Department Detectives Gustave Gallenkamp and Detective Pietrowski investigated Mr. Punch’s case.
