Travis County Jury Convicts Man Charged with Murder
Travis County, TX — On Thursday, July 17, 2025, a Travis County jury convicted Joshua Fernando Trezaratti, 48, of Murder.
Jury selection started on Monday, July 14, 2025, and testimony began the following day. On Thursday, July 17, 2025, the jury started deliberations and found Mr. Trezaratti guilty of Murder. On Friday, July 18, 2025, the jury assessed his punishment at 18 years to be served at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On October 25, 2023, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Trezaratti and charged him with Murder for the death of Joshua Rivera, 28, which took place on October 24, 2023. On December 11, 2023, Mr. Trezaratti was indicted for the offense of Murder.
Assistant District Attorneys Emily Scholten and Eran Sharon presented the case against Mr. Trezaratti with the support of Investigators Mike Henderson and John Holliday, Victim Counselor Larissa Youngblood, Paralegal Raquel Sanchez, and Legal Secretary Chardell Johnson. Austin Police Department Detective Kendric Witt investigated Mr. Trezaratti’s case.
