Travis County Jury Convicts Man of Murder and Deadly Conduct
Travis County, TX — On Friday, December 12, 2025, a Travis County jury convicted Vicente Reveles, 21, of Murder and Deadly Conduct.
For Reveles’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, December 8, 2025, and testimony began on the following day. On Friday, December 12, 2025, the jury deliberated and found him guilty of Murder and Deadly Conduct. On Monday, December 15, 2025, the jury sentenced him to 30 years for Murder and 10 years for Deadly Conduct, to be served concurrently in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On February 23, 2022, the Austin Police Department arrested and charged Reveles with Aggravated Assault Discharge of a Firearm for shooting Michael Carothers Jr., 17, on October 9, 2021, in downtown Austin. On March 30, 2023, Reveles was indicted for the offenses of Murder and Deadly Conduct.
Assistant District Attorneys Kiera Kilday and Angie Creasy presented the case against Reveles with the support of Victim Counselor Lynn Cragg, Investigators Sean Gorham, Cyril Friday, and Fred Spencer, and Paralegal Diana Nanez. Austin Police Department Detective Leticia Acosta investigated the case against Reveles.
