Travis County Jury Convicts Man of Sexual Assault

Travis County, TX — On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, a Travis County jury convicted Antonio Vasquez Vasquez, 57, of Sexual Assault.

On Monday, August 3, 2026, jury selection started for his trial, and the State began presenting evidence on the following day. On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, the jury found Antonio Vasquez Vasquez guilty of Sexual Assault and sentenced him to 8 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. The jury also found him not guilty of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Sexual Offense.  

On July 15, 2024, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Vazquez and charged him with Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Sexual Offense and Sexual Assault.

On February 13, 2025, Antonio Vasquez Vasquez was indicted for the offenses of one count of Burglary of a Habitation with Intent to Commit a Sexual Offense and one count of Sexual Assault.

Assistant District Attorneys Jacques Roussel and Devin Falck presented the case against Vazquez with the support of Victim Counselor Claudia Pharr, Investigator Araseli Amaya, Paralegal Missy Martinez, and Legal Secretaries Valerie Briones, Randi Skelton, and Breanna Rhoton.  Travis County Sheriff’s Office Detective Scott Smucker investigated the case against Vazquez.
