Travis County District Attorney’s Office Secures Conviction for Man Charged with Murder
Travis County, TX — On Thursday, March 6, 2025, a Travis County jury convicted Moses Mohinga, 23, of Murder.
Jury selection for Mr. Mohinga’s trial started on Monday, March 3, 2025, and testimony began the following day. On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the jury deliberated, found Mr. Mohinga guilty of Murder and sentenced him to serve 65 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On October 27, 2023, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Mohinga and charged him with Murder in connection with the death of Keith Bedford, 40, which took place on September 26, 2023. On December 27, 2023, Mr. Mohinga was indicted with the offense of Murder.
Assistant District Attorneys Emily Scholten and David Levingston tried the case against Mr. Mohinga, with the support of Victim Counselor Michaela Owusu-Kyereko, Investigator Evans Daniel, Paralegal Holly Sonnenberg and Katrina Spradlin, and Legal Secretary Monica Moreno. Austin Police Department Detective Brice Bishop investigated Mr. Mohinga’s case.
