Travis County District Attorney’s Office Provides Updates on Cases TRAVIS COUNTY, TX — On Tuesday, February 7, 2023, a Travis County jury acquitted Kenneth Cornelious Brown, 63, of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon by Threat.
For Mr. Brown’s trial, jury selection started on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Brown not guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon by Threat.
On October 19, 2022, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Brown and charged him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon by Threat for the offense that took place the same day.
On December 6, 2022, Mr. Brown was indicted for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon by Threat.
In a separate case, on Thursday, February 9, 2023, a Travis County jury acquitted Guillermo Quiroga-Cantu, 55, of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
For Mr. Quiroga-Cantu’s trial, jury selection started on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, and testimony began on Wednesday, February 8, 2023. On Thursday, February 9, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Quiroga-Cantu not guilty of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
On July 17, 2020, the Leander Police Department arrested Mr. Quiroga-Cantu and charged him with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon for the offense that took place the same day.
On November 15, 2020, Mr. Quiroga-Cantu was indicted for the offense of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
