Travis County District Attorney’s Office Secures Guilty Verdict For Man Charged with Murder

Travis County, TX — On Thursday, April 6, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Antonio Joiner, 30, of Murder.

For Mr. Joiner’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, April 3, 2023, and testimony began on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.  On Thursday, April 6, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Joiner guilty of Murder.

On September 28, 2020, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Joiner and charged him with the murder of Dontra Jamol Kinsey, 27, which took place on August 22, 2020.

On December 4, 2020, Mr. Joiner was indicted for the offense of Murder.

“Our office is committed to holding people who commit acts of violence accountable,” said Travis County District Attorney José Garza. “We hope this verdict brings closure and peace to the victim’s family.”
