Travis County District Attorney’s Office Secures Guilty Verdicts for Acts of Violence
TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – On Thursday, January 12, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Alberto Torres, 33, of Capital Murder.
For Mr. Torres’s trial, jury selection started Monday, January 9, 2023, and testimony began on Tuesday, January 10, 2023. On Thursday, January 12, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Torres guilty of Capital Murder.
On November 7, 2020, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Torres and charged him with the murder of Jerry Paul Lee, 60, which took place on November 6, 2020.
On November 8, 2021, Mr. Torres was subsequently reindicted in preparation for his trial for the offense of Capital Murder.
In a separate case, on Thursday, January 12, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Sean Anderson, 53, of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
For Mr. Anderson’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, January 9, 2023, and testimony began on Wednesday, January 11, 2023; on Thursday, January 12, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Anderson guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of Child.
On June 20, 2019, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Anderson and charged him with Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child for the offense that took place on May 22, 2019.
On November 1, 2022, Mr. Anderson was subsequently reindicted in preparation for the trial for the offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child.
