Travis County Judge Sentences Christopher Taylor for Deadly Conduct
Travis County, TX — On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, a Travis County judge sentenced Christopher Taylor to two years in prison for Deadly Conduct, to be served in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Mr. Taylor will remain out of custody pending his appeal.
After a Travis County jury convicted Christopher Taylor of Deadly Conduct on Saturday, October 5, 2024, the judge separated his sentencing hearings into two sessions. The State presented its evidence on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, and Thursday, October 31, 2024; the defense presented its evidence on Monday, November 25, 2024, and Tuesday, November 26, 2024.
For Mr. Taylor’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, September 23, 2024, and testimony began on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. The jury started deliberating on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, and on Saturday, October 5, 2024, found him guilty of Deadly Conduct.
On March 10, 2021, Mr. Taylor was indicted for the offenses of Murder and Deadly Conduct for the death of Mauris DeSilva on July 31, 2019.
