Travis County Jury Convicts Man Charged with Sexual Assault
Travis County, TX — On Thursday, May 8, 2025, a Travis County jury convicted John Arnold, 32, of Sexual Assault.
For Mr. Arnold’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, May 5, 2025, and testimony began the following day. On Wednesday, May 7, 2025, the jury started deliberating and on Thursday, May 8, 2025, found him guilty of Sexual Assault. On Friday, May 9, 2025, the jury sentenced him to serve seven years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On October 3, 2020, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Arnold and charged him with Sexual Assault for the offense that took place in May 2020. On January 28, 2021, a Grand Jury indicted Mr. Arnold for the offense of Sexual Assault.
Assistant District Attorneys TJ Harris and Kate Hall presented the case against Mr. Arnold with the support of Victim Counselor Kyrsten Engstrom, Investigator Rachael Lacey, Paralegal Amanda Beaver, and Legal Secretaries Randi Skelton, Anthony Giles, and Breanna Rhoton. Austin Police Department Detective John Garza investigated Mr. Arnold’s case.
