Travis County DA’s Office Secures Guilty Verdict for Man Charged with Capital Murder
Travis County, TX — – On February 12, 2024, a Travis County jury convicted Eric Rollins on the charge of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons. He was sentenced on the same day to life without parole, to be served in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
Mr. Rollins was charged for killing two people on April 28, 2022. He was arrested the same day. Jury selection began on February 5, 2024. The jury returned a verdict of guilty on the charge of Capital Murder on February 12, 2024.
The case against Mr. Cooks was tried by Assistant District Attorneys Jean Sullivan, Dominic Selvera, and Willa Cockshutt. The TCDA Investigator was Jesse Hernandez, Paralegal Cecilee Walker, Victim Witness Counselors Raquel Pompey and Terrance Greene, and Legal Secretary Ana-Laura Mojica. The case was investigated by the Austin Police Department, and led by Sargeant Tim Price and Corporal Jason Ayers.
