Travis County DA’s Office Secures Guilty Verdict for Woman Charged with Murder
Travis County, TX — On Thursday, November 16, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Kaitlin Armstrong, 35, of Murder for the death of Anna Moriah Wilson, 25.
Jury selection began on Monday, October 30, 2023, with testimony starting on Wednesday, November 1, 2023. On Thursday, November 16, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Ms. Armstrong guilty of Murder. On Friday, November 17, 2023, the jury members assessed her punishment at 90 years to be served in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
The Austin Police Department led the investigation into Ms. Wilson’s murder. On June 29, 2022, the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Marshals Office of International Operations, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Department of State Diplomatic Security Service, working with authorities in Costa Rica, arrested Ms. Armstrong for the murder of Anna Moriah Wilson, which took place on May 11, 2022.
The case was prosecuted by Travis County District Attorney’s Office Directors Guillermo Gonzalez and Rickey Jones and Assistant District Attorney Jean Sullivan.
On June 10, 2022, Ms. Armstrong was indicted for the offense of Murder.

I also want to thank all of the law enforcement agencies for their work in bringing the defendant to justice,” said Travis County District Attorney José Garza. “Our hearts continue to break for the Wilson family, and while it won’t bring Moriah Wilson back, I hope this verdict brings closure and peace to the victim’s family.”
