Travis County DA’s Office Secures Conviction for Man Charged with Capital Murder of Multiple Persons
Travis County, TX — On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, a Travis County jury convicted David Ontiveros, 45, of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.
For Mr. Ontiveros’s trial, jury selection began on Monday, September 16, 2024, and testimony started the following day. On Tuesday, September 24, 2024, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Ontiveros guilty of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons. On the same day, the judge assessed his punishment at life in prison without parole to be served at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On April 22, 2022, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Ontiveros and charged him with Capital Murder for the deaths of Christina Michelle Limon, 39, and her 14-year-old son. On June 24, 2022, Mr. Ontiveros was indicted for the offense of Capital Murder of Multiple Persons.
Trial Court Senior Director Rickey Jones, Special Victims Unit Director Andrea Austin, and Assistant District Attorney Jazmine Smith tried the case against Mr. Ontiveros with the support of Investigator Steven Hall, Victim Counselor Raquel Pompey, and Paralegals Cecilee Walker and Allison Matous. Austin Police Department Detective Manuel Hernandez investigated Mr. Ontivero’s case.
