Travis County District Attorney’s Office Secures Conviction for Man Charged with Murder
Travis County, TX — On Thursday, December 12, 2024, a Travis County jury convicted Tajaurae Jones, 21, of Murder.
For Mr. Jones’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, December 9, 2024, and testimony began on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. The jury started deliberating on Thursday, December 12, 2024, and on the same day, found Mr. Jones guilty of Murder and sentenced him to serve 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
On August 4, 2023, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Jones and charged him with the murder of Ti’Jarious White, 19, which occurred on July 16, 2023. On October 30, 2023, Mr. Jones was indicted for the offenses of Murder and Deadly Conduct Discharge of a Firearm.
Assistant District Attorneys Habon Mohamed and Jacob Salinas tried the case against Mr. Jones with the support of Investigator Fred Spencer, Victim Counselor Lolita Rattler, Paralegal Devota Swenson, and Legal Secretary Monica Hernandez. Austin Police Department Detectives Randy DeLuna and Joseph Moran investigated Mr. Jones’ case.
