Travis County District Attorney’s Office Secures Guilty Verdict in Obstruction or Retaliation Jury Trial
Travis County, Tx — On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Benjamin Taylor, 33, of Obstruction or Retaliation.
For Mr. Taylor’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, June 5, 2023, and testimony began on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.
On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Taylor guilty of two counts of Obstruction or Retaliation.
On January 17, 2023, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office charged Mr. Taylor with the offense of Obstruction or Retaliation for the offense that took place on November 18, 2022. While Mr. Taylor was incarcerated at the Travis County Correctional Complex, he sent a letter to the victim of his Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon case threatening to kill them if they testified against him. Mr. Taylor also sent two letters to our office where he threatened to kill a Travis County Sheriff’s Office detective.
On April 11, 2023, Mr. Taylor was indicted for the offense of Obstruction or Retaliation.
