Travis County District Attorney’s Office Provides Updates on Cases
TRAVIS COUNTY – On Thursday, March 9, 2023, a Travis County jury convicted Frank Lee Nobles, 31, of Murder.
For Mr. Nobles’ trial, jury selection started on Monday, March 6, 2023, and testimony began on Tuesday, March 7, 2023.
On Thursday, March 9, 2023, the jury deliberated and found Mr. Nobles guilty of Murder.
On November 15, 2021, the Austin Police Department arrested Mr. Nobles and charged him with the murder of Iyanna Jahnee Dukes, 20, which took place on September 16, 2021.
On November 23, 2021, Mr. Nobles was indicted for the offense of Murder.
“Our office is committed to holding people who commit acts of violence accountable,” said Travis County District Attorney José Garza. “We hope this verdict brings closure and peace to the victim’s family.”
In a separate trial, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, a Travis County jury could not reach a unanimous verdict in the Assault Family, or Household Member with Previous Conviction trial of Benjamin Taylor, 33.
For Mr. Taylor’s trial, jury selection started on Monday, March 6, 2023, and testimony began on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. On Wednesday, March 8, 2023, the jury deliberated but could not reach a unanimous verdict, and as a result, Judge
Mueller declared a mistrial.
On August 30, 2021, the Travis County Sheriff’s Office arrested Mr. Taylor and charged him with the offense of Assault Family, or Household Member with Previous Conviction.
On August 26, 2021, Mr. Taylor was indicted for the offense of Assault Family, or Household Member with Previous Conviction.
